Addiction

Addiction

Accompanying addiction is often “the existence of negative consequences….due to engaging in an addictive behavior (e.g., physical discomfort, social disapproval, financial loss, or decreased self-esteem).

The Impact

Addiction quite simply is not an addiction until it has had it’s negative impact on the individual’s life and often their relationship with those around them. From broken relationships, and financial hardships, to simply the inability to live a life you envisioned for yourself or your loved one. There is no absence of pain and suffering when addiction is present. From lost time with family to debts owed which can’t be repaid. As well as the often unwelcomed emotional companions to addiction of worry, sadness, guilt, shame…

There is Hope

Despite the difficulties, we believe there is hope. We have seen the faces of families united. The triumph when anxiety and depression no longer lead to patterns of using (insert addiction here) to quell the racing and negative thoughts but begin to be faced and conquered in isolation. We see joy, hope, perseverance and dedication and lives well lived, potential obtained.

Work with Craig

My goal in helping you to manage addiction is to start on the inside. We work to build the resilience and fortitude that is necessary for a path that is oftentimes difficult but moreso worth it.  We work to find peace and motivation to do the things that are hard and patience when we stumble and get back up again. We understand while recovery as just a word sounds easy as a practice it is hard and that we can do hard things. We lay out a plan for the present and a map for the future.
